JEFFREY SMITH - Pastel

I've had an interest in art as long as I can remember. My art education began with 4 years of study at The Atelier in Minneapolis. Since graduation, it has continued through my own independent study of the world around me, and through my time spent teaching at The Atelier.

I find painting outside to be one of the most difficult tasks given to a painter, but also one of the most rewarding. Painting out of the studio gives one access to so much information. It is my goal as an artist to take in this information, and remain focused on my pursuit of a simple but interesting pattern of shapes, values, and colors.
